We’ve posted a video of an upper and lower eyelid lift in our growing library of video content as seen through a head-mounted GoPro camera! The beauty of using a GoPro is that it provides a bird’s eye view from the surgeon’s perspective. No need to worry about getting that perfect angle or concern over the videographer accidentally touching the sterile surgical field.
In this video, a patient is undergoing an upper and lower eyelid lift, also called a blepharoplasty. Excess skin and fat are removed from the upper lids and excess fat is removed from the lower lids through a hidden incision!
The great thing about this type of eyelid lift is that the upper lid incision is hidden in the patient’s natural eyelid crease and the lower lid incision is on the inside of the lower eyelid so you can’t see it and it doesn’t require any stitches. While the upper eyelid lift requires stitches, it’s so easy to pull out that one stitch that even the patient can do it at home!
